Corn futures faced an increase of 1.25 to 3.5 cents in financial markets on Monday, September 13. The September futures rose by 1.75 cents to $5.12. Additionally, the average cash corn price increased by 3.25 cents to $4.87 per bushel.
Crop Conditions in the United States
According to the crop progress report, 86 percent of the U.S. corn crop had reached the dent stage as of September 13, with 42 percent having reached maturity. Furthermore, the harvest so far accounts for 8 percent of total projections. The rating of crop conditions this week has reached 57 percent in good to excellent condition, indicating a one percent increase compared to last week. The Brugler500 index has remained steady at 347.

Export Conditions and Global Forecasts
The export inspections report released on Monday morning showed that corn shipments totaled 1.525 million tons (60.06 million bushels) for the week ending September 10. This figure represents an 8.91 percent decrease from the previous week and is 0.54 percent lower than the same period last year. The largest destinations for shipments were Mexico with 478,113 tons, South Korea with 275,525 tons, and Japan with 207,502 tons. Total marketing shipments for the current year have reached 2.174 million tons (85.57 million bushels) as of the first 10 days of the new year, which is 0.46 percent lower than the same time in 2025/26.
In Brazil, the planting of the first corn crop for the 2026/27 season has reached 22 percent as of Thursday, showing progress compared to 17 percent last year. Additionally, it is estimated that Ukraine's corn crop for 2026/27 will reach 32.3 million tons, an increase of 2.5 million tons from previous estimates. Furthermore, corn exports for this year are projected to reach 22 million tons.
Additionally, corn futures prices for various dates are as follows: December contract at $5.33 with a 3 cent increase, cash price near $4.87 with a 3.25 cent increase, March contract at $5.48 with a 2.5 cent increase, and May contract at $5.55 with a 2.25 cent increase.
