Cortes also pointed out that Tafoya, given her background as a popular sports reporter, could serve as an effective candidate in this competition. He stated, "Tafoya represents a type of candidate who will succeed in the current political and media environment."
Despite the closeness of these races, prediction markets have not yet taken such changes into account. According to Polymarket data, Flanagan's chances of winning are estimated at over 90%, while Tafoya's chances are less than 10%.

These shootings have heightened tensions in Minnesota and led to multiple scandals for Democratic officials.
